Much of rural Sikkim and Darjeeling offer attractive opportunities for enjoyable day walks. Also, selected segments of a major point-to-point transfer say from Darjeeling to Gangtok or elsewhere do offer several interesting walking opportunities and your itinerary will be designed to take maximum advantage of the situation at hand. Low vehicular traffic in rural highways combined with refreshing mountain air makes it an attractive proposition.
Your walking holiday is not much different from a drive-around touring program. It will, in most instances, bring you to the comforts of your hotel room at day’s end, and your transport vehicle will be in attendance to pick you up where the walk ends.

The noticeable difference will be:
1. Your program is designed to take maximum advantage of the scenic and socio-cultural aspects in portions that we have recommended for walking
2. Most lunches will be set in picnic style as you will be outdoors

Walking tours provide more situations for interesting meets and interaction with the rural mass of whom, many still retain age-old practices in tradition and culture.
